Naturally our little bobo LOVES superheros. Hulk, spiderman, super goof, yada yada! Last night before bed, we put him in these cool PJ's and he magically transformed from a goofy little boy into Peter Parker in disguise. We just knew we had to document this, its too funny not to. Enjoy!

For the sake of Kamahele's grandparents who all live in Hawaii, I've made it to goal to try and blog at least once a week. Key word: GOAL so since its been a week since my last post i've decided that its about that time to return to blogging.

Kamahele Durrett: Baseball Proflie Picture

Kamahele is ALL-BOY! Guns, Cars, xbox, pretend fighting, every type of sport that involves a ball and hes pretty much set for a good time. Not gonna lie its been a major change for me to wrap my mind around how these sort of things are fun (referring to the guns, xbox and play fight) but my hubby keeps telling me that its innate.

So lets just leave it at that.

With that being said, every morning he'll bring me a ball (or gun) for us to play with and this particular day was a day for baseball. He grabbed his fitted hat, bat, baseball, mitt.....

......and ran into the kitchen to challenge me to an inning. I'll let the pictures do most the talking

Okay so its been almost a year (i know, i know) and im long over due for a new post. I guess im just not much of a blogger now that Kamahele keeps me busy and since our little girl is making her way but ta-da here i am. This time i'll try alittle harder, but no promises lol.....

So since im nearing the end of my pregnancy, and certain people have been requesting to see pictures, here they are. I'm still not sure that I want the whole world looking at these but until i change my mind, here are some pictures of me at 32 weeks. ENJOY the belly full of jelly :)

I always feel bad about not updating my blog mostly because I know my mom and mother in law want to see pictures of their grandson who lives so far away :( Its especially important now because he continues to grow and change so quickly. I don't know about you but to me, my son looks ALL BOY. Many a time I have been told that "she is so cute" or "how is she doing today" or at the doctors office at least 4 times "can you take off her clothes" or "did i pronounce her name right" and so on and so forth.....you get the idea.

So there is this local show that I love to watch in the morning and there is a segment that honors their youngest viewers for their first birthday. Of course being the proud mommy that I am, I submitted his picture in honor of his special day.

Excited I whipped out my camera (with the intention of just showing my hubby) and low and behold his cute picture pops up. Wait! Whats that? Why is my name under his picture? I KNOW I submitted his picture along with his name. I came to the conclusion that they must of thought that he was a girl and I was "Kamahele" , a father submitting his "daughters" picture. *Sigh*

In the end, a friend once told me its better that my son is complimented as being pretty than to have my daughters be told they are handsome. I never dress him in anything but masculine colors. BLUE = BOY!!!

Kahi and I were SO excited to celebrate Christmas this year, being that it was Kamahele's 1st. We anticipated that Kamahele would rip open all his presents. Sadly it was quite the opposite! He ran away from the first gift that we tried to make him open. Mom and dad ended up opening his gifts for him but eventually he came around to the idea and in the end had fun looking at all the new things that surrounded him. Thanks everyone for making his first Christmas memorable!

Its been nice that Kamahele has been able to spend 2 whole months with his cousin who is just two weeks older than him. They really enjoying playing, blabbing and stealing things from each other. I know he will miss him lots when he leaves next week. Here are some pictures we took when we went to the park for some fishing festivities. Sad to say, only Kalia caught a fish after about 5 hours of being in the cold water. At least the day wasn't a total waste. Good job Kalia!

PUMPKIN LAND!

In light of Halloween, we decided to take Kamahele to the land of the Pumpkins for a fun, wholesome family activity. Although he is still very young and doesn't quite understand our excitement for this loved holiday, he still had a good time looking around at all the cool stuff. While there we enjoyed maneuvering around a maze, looking at animals, and oohing and awwing over humongo pumpkins. It was quite the day!

As you can see Kahi's newest hobby that he picked up is fishing. Now that he is going at least 3 times a week, he has been wanting Kamahele and I to go. Of course I always had an excuse for us to not go but last week I finally ran out of ideas and gave in. So off the the reservoir we went and what do you know, I cast and caught 2 fish. Yaye, the end result.....

In preparation for our much anticipated trip to Hawaii, my mom bought Kamahele a beach hat. But since we aren't there yet, we are trying to make good use of it 1) while its still hot and sunny and 2) so that he gets used to the idea of wearing one. Surprisingly he likes it.....

Recently Kamahele's appetite has grown from eating 2 times a night to 3-4 times. Talk about a tired mama! Doctor said we could start feeding this big boy rice cereal before bed to hold him over for awhile, so that's exactly what we did. To my surprise he was very patient during the feeding and opened up his mouth well (probably cause he watches us eat). He does make sour faces every once in a while so we arn't sure if he likes it, regardless he still takes it. However, to no avail he still wakes up at least 3 times nightly to feed, oh well.

Kamahele expierenced the beach for the first time at Kona's Ku'kio Bay, and he loved it! I figured he thought it was just a big bocha (bath). He was unsure of the sand at first but soon got over it. Could this be the start of a mini-Kahi (beach-bum) in the making? Oh well, regardless he had alot of fun and his daddy looks forward to actually taking him into the water this fall.

Kamahele expierenced his first plane ride this past week, and boy did he make mommy work hard. It was a long jouney from Utah to Hawaii but 9 hours and 2 doodoo explosions later we finally made it to Kona. There was only one thing that kept him quiet (and no, it wasnt the boob)......

Within the past month now we have noticed that Kamahele is more aware of his surroundings as well as his body. For some reason he likes to play with his hands and constantly has them up as though he's ready to "throwdown". We've dubbed his mittens (that protect his face from his nails) as his boxing gloves. Since my brother in law junior was going to be the main male solo Tahitian dancer you already know we just HAD to buy tickets to see this! Nevertheless he did a great job and we had so much fun cheering him and Krysynt on as they were the stars of the Tahitian section. Awesome job guys! Kamahele was such a good boy, he sat and marveled at the bright lights, costumes, and dancing that went on all around him.

The other morning we decided to give baby tummy time in his bassinet. In the meantime Kahi and I laid down in the bed beside him to watch T.V. After a few minutes of being in his bed I looked over to see him staring at us....it was so funny! We just had to video tape our little turtle. My, my, my what a strong neck he has.

Bath time always comforts baby, even when he is in the grouchiest of grouchy mood. Once he hears the water faucet running his eyes widen and almost instantly is calm. He LOVES his bath time! As for after bath time, that's a different story. Now we can't wait to take him to the ocean....hopefully sometime this summer.
